CONSERVATIVE JUDICIAL ACTIVIST PAID GINNI THOMAS TENS OF THOUSANDS IN CROOKED DEAL BROKERED BY KELLYANNE CONWAY

(May 4, 2023) – Today, The Washington Post reported that conservative judicial activist Leonard Leo arranged to give Ginni Thomas — wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas — thousands of dollars in a hidden deal brokered by Kellyanne Conway. Mrs. Thomas’s consulting firm, Liberty Consulting, is alleged to have received at least $25,000 from fees billed to a non-profit Mr. Leo directed Ms. Conway to charge. According to the Post, Mr. Leo told Conway the paperwork should make “No mention of Ginni, of course.”

In response, Take Back the Court released the following statement on behalf of its president, Sarah Lipton-Lubet:

“When you funnel tens of thousands of dollars to the wife of a Supreme Court justice and go out of your way to specify that her name must be kept off all records of the transaction, that means you know you are doing something wrong.”
