POLL SHOWS PUBLIC TRUST IN SUPREME COURT WORST IN 50 YEARS AFTER DOBBS

(May 18, 2023) – A new poll released by NORC at the University of Chicago shows that public trust in the Supreme Court plummeted to its lowest point in 50 years after last summer’s Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Org. decision, which overturned the constitutional right to abortion.

“The right wing justices’ campaign to light their own credibility on fire is paying off,” said Sarah Lipton-Lubet, president of Take Back the Court. “Turns out if you lie about taking gifts from billionaires, rip away fundamental rights supported by the vast majority of Americans, and refuse to answer for any of it, people will be big mad. We need to fundamentally reform and reshape this broken Court. Now.”
