REPORT: THIS COURT THE MOST PRO-CORPORATE, ANTI-PEOPLE COURT WE’VE EVER SEEN

(February 23, 2023) — Ahead of arguments in Biden v. Nebraska and Dept. of Education v. Brown next week that could threaten the future of student debt relief for borrowers across the nation, Take Back the Court released a new report today highlighting just some of the recent cases in which the Court has prioritized corporations over consumers.

“When given the chance, this right-wing Court will choose corporations over the interests of the American people every time,” said Sarah Lipton-Lubet, president of Take Back the Court. “Workers’ and students’ well-being shouldn’t depend on six right-wing partisans in black judicial robes who have shown their allegiance time and time again to their wealthy friends in corporate America. If we want a judiciary that supports the people, we have to expand the Court.”
