THOMAS FINDS YET ANOTHER ETHICS RULE TO BREAK

(March 28, 2024) – Today, a New York Times report details the favoritism shown by Justice Clarence Thomas and his wife Ginni to right-wing lawyer Crystal Clanton, the Thomases’ “nearly adopted daughter” who will clerk at the Supreme Court starting this fall. In response to the news, Take Back the Court released the following statement on behalf of its president, Sarah Lipton-Lubet:

“Presiding over the most corrupt, scandal-ridden Supreme Court in modern history, John Roberts responded with a feckless, non-binding code of ethics. But even that was too much for Clarence Thomas, who is doing everything but marching into Roberts’ office to ceremonially burn the ethics code in front of him.”
